Nancy Grace Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed by Duckett
Relatives
CNN host Nance Grace has been hit with a wrongful
death lawsuit by the relatives of Melinda Duckett, who committed
suicide the day after aggressive questioning.
The Nancy Grace lawsuit has been moved to
federal court since opposing parties reside in different
states. The lawsuit was moved from state court in Tavares
to federal court in Ocala, Florida.
The relatives claim that overly aggressive questioning
of Melinda Duckett about her missing toddler by Nancy
Grace resulted in the suicide. Nancy Grace conducted the
interview on September 7, 2006 on the CNN Headline News
show.

The interview centered around asking Duckett the whereabouts
of her 2-year-old, Trenton, who was missing since August 2006.
CNN aired the interview after Duckett committed suicide using
a gun.
The lawsuit against both Nancy Grace and CNN seeks unspecified
compensatory and punitive
damages and asks that any further broadcasts of the interview
be blocked. Florida investigators have since named Melinda Duckett
as the prime suspect in her son's disappearance.
